* remove the object from the registry
* delete the pointer (if owned by the registry)
- Release() does the following:
* transfer ownership of the pointer (if owned by the registry)
- Store() does the following:
* transfer ownership of the pointer to the registry
ENH: use UPtrList of sorted objects for MeshObject updates
